Thalaivan Silambarasan is planning to go on a whirlwind election campaign to garner votes for his director-producer-actor-politician father Vijaya T. Rajendar. The actor’s current film, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, which is being directed by the ace director Gautham Menon, is nearing completion. Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya also has Trisha playing Silambarasan’s arm candy.
With the film nearing completion, it paves way and time for Silambarasan to concentrate on the election campaign. Reportedly, the campaign will go on for three days in Kallakurichi, Yercaud and Athur areas. Based on the response from the voters, the campaign may be extended.
Princess Trisha, the Tamil cinema’s original diva, celebrates her 26th birthday today, May 4th. Born as Trisha Krishnan in 1983, she is one of the very few Tamil girls who attained enviable stardom in the Tamil film industry. Trisha’s call to filmdom came across when she won the Miss India Miss Beautiful Smile in 2001, before which she was already popular in the modeling circles.

Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar has decided not to celebrate his 38th birthday today and has written an open letter to his fans urging them not to have a bash in view of the “inhuman condition of Tamils in Sri Lanka”.Every year, his fan clubs, under the umbrella of Ajith Kumar Narpani Iyyakam (AKNI), have made his birthday a grand affair. The star has a professionally run fan club. His huge fan following cuts across all sections of the population, and 90 percent of his box office collections come from ‘A’ centres of Chennai, Coimbatore and towns like Madurai and Tiruchi. The star has a charitable side too, which he tries to play down. His feelings for Sri Lankan Tamils are genuine. A little-known fact is that Ajith has donated and helped the cause without any fanfare or publicity. The actor has carried out charity work through the Mohini-Mani Foundation, set up under his parents’ name.
